I don't even know where Radovets is, but no doubt, you bought a heap of Bulgarian bricks as most of us did and will face many a happy, sad, frustrating moment in getting the house up to usual Western European standards. Best wishes to you.

Hi Moscow wolf, radovets is approx 3km from the Turkish border, nearest large town is svilingrad. Thank you very much for your input. No doubt it will become a money pit. 😢

There is little doubt in my mind that it will, but if that is what you want then, good luck to you. I did know of a Brit family that lived there some years ago, but have no idea if they're still there or not nowadays.

May I ask how you found your house, through an agency or similar?

So I guess you decided against buying, EB - or have you plumped for another property?

It's likely that Bulgaria will join both Schengen and the Eurozone at some, possibly not far distant, time and I'd suspect that property would then increase in price. Now is the time to do the deed but first you need to decide if BG is really for you and if it is, just whereabouts makes the most sense. You'll get many different answers to the latter question but if I were you I'd think long and hard about why you want to buy in that area and whether or not to do it via a company.
